GENERAL QUESTIONS

Q: What type of clothing is best to wear for a Pilates session?

A: Comfortable, close-fitting clothing that will stay close to your body as you move, such

as leggings and elasticized materials are best, similar to what you might wear in a pilates

class. If you prefer shorts, best to have biker-type shorts either alone or underneath a

looser pair.

Q: What do I wear on my feet?

A: You need to have a good connection with your feet without slipping. Barefoot is fine,

or grippy socks that are tight to your feet with plenty of ‘grippies’ on the bottom. For

the TRX class, you want to wear sneakers with a low heel. You may bring them with you,

so they are ‘clean’ for class. This will keep less dirt on the carpet and on the BOSU’s and

is very appreciated!

Q: What should I bring with me?

A: For the Classical Mat classes, feel free to bring your own mat. We recommend one

that is a bit thicker than a yoga mat. However, if you do not have a mat, you are

welcome to use one at the Studio. There is no fee for using a mat.

You may wish to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Please use water bottles that

have a tight-fitting closure, so they do not spill when tipped.

Q: Do I need a towel?

A: Generally, you do not perspire a great deal in Pilates, however, occasionally you

might. If you tend to get very warm, then a small absorbent towel is recommended.

Q: How long is each session?

A: All sessions are listed as one hour, whether it be a group class or a private on the

apparatus. We do our best to start on time so please do your best to be prompt. If you

are early for your class or session, you may wait in the sitting area outside the studio

door. If you are more than 10 minutes late for class, we recommend re-scheduling as

this is disruptive to the other class members once we have started flowing.

Please leave an extra 10 minutes or so at the end of your class or session. If you need to

be out exactly on the hour, tell your instructor. Occasionally, classes may run a little

longer than the hour so if you can plan for the extra time that would be wonderful!

Q: Should I come to my session if I am feeling fatigue, discomfort, or if I am experiencing

some other issue?

A: Please contact your instructor prior to your session if you are feeling any of the above

before choosing to cancel. Many times, your session will help to alleviate any

discomforts or fatigue you are experiencing. It is best to ask your instructor for advice in

such situations to discern whether or not to come in for your session.
